Fast-Setting Self Levelling Smooth Coat for LVT, Vinyl, Carpet, Wood Flooring & More
Fassa SL 416 is a fast-setting, self-levelling smooth coat designed for levelling and smoothing interior subfloors from 1–10mm in a single application. Suitable for both renovation and new construction projects, SL 416 offers excellent flow, strong mechanical performance (CT-C30-F7) and fast return to service — ideal where rapid flooring installation is required.
Suitable Substrates
SL 416 is suitable, subject to correct preparation and priming, for mechanically sound and dimensionally stable interior substrates including:
- Cementitious screeds
- Anhydrite (calcium sulphate) screeds
- Securely bonded existing ceramic, marble and stone floors
Suitable Finished Floorcoverings
Once cured, SL 416 provides an excellent base for the installation of:
- LVT (Luxury Vinyl Tile) – gluedown and click
- Vinyl & resilient flooring (linoleum, PVC, rubber)
- Carpet
- Wood and laminate flooring
- Ceramic & porcelain tiles
- Natural stone
- Raised floors and thin coverings
- Resinous coverings
Note: Timber and laminate floorcoverings must only be laid once residual moisture is ≤ 2% (≤ 1.7% over underfloor heating systems), confirmed by carbide hygrometer.
⚠️ Technical Warning – Flexible Substrates & UFH
Do not use SL 416 on highly flexible substrates or outdoors. For underfloor heating systems, allow a minimum of 7 days curing before activating the system. Start UFH before laying any floorcovering to allow any stress-related cracks to appear before installation.
Compatible Fassa Primers
Always prime the substrate before applying SL 416. Choose the correct primer based on your substrate type:
- Fassa Primer DG74 – Acrylic primer for porous and absorbent substrates (concrete, sand/cement screeds, anhydrite). Available in 5kg (50m²) and 20kg (200m²).
- Fassa Primertek Ultra – Textured grip primer for smooth and non-porous substrates (existing tiles, dense screeds, terrazzo). 10kg covers 80–120m².
